This year´s new collection consists of twelve new series, six of which are intended for bathrooms, three for kitchens, and three for aesthetical and functional externalization of floors. This year´s introduction of the RAKO News is exceptional with the fact that this is the 125th year of existence of the traditional Czech brand RAKO.
In RAKO 2008 bathrooms, several style lines are projected, and even the customer with the highest demands will be able to select from them. Reflections of gold or platinum on decorations represent one of the blending elements diffusing through several bathroom series, no matter whether this regards significantly applied strokes of platinum at the Botanica series, or golden carpet strips on Spirit decorations and rosettes, or flashy beams embarrassing the bathroom with a yellow variant of the Bonanza series.
Textile structures used on surfaces of wall and floor tiles at series Botanica, Denim, and Bonanza are more and more popular, whereas at the Spirit series, inspiration with fabrics, textile decorators, carpet, and damask pattern are applied in various forms on all elements. The Spirit series with its luxurious large formats (25 x 45 cm for wall tiles and 45 x 45 cm for floor tiles), noble style, and a great number of decorations, has become the most exclusive news of RAKO 2008.
The luxury and most startling news has become the micro-mosaic 1 x 1 cm, which gave the fashion and name to the new Tetris series. Its colour variants and four pattern types enable the creation of up to thirteen various compositions, which will uniquely make exceptional not only kitchens but any area, in particular, if it is complemented by whole-area floor tiles in order to achieve the required contrast of formats. The new parquet pattern of rectangle mosaic 2.3 x 7.3 cm is the forced news too. The parquet pattern of mosaic brings new dynamics, in particular, to higher surfaces, as well as offers a very untraditional possibility of using individual ceramic-mosaic plates after cutting.
Floors RAKO 2008 offer two totally different approaches to interiors. Firstly, the exotic style is used, combining the natural stone with a design of Turkey carpet at the Gobeline series, secondly, nobleness of the Spirit series with a textile to carpet structure, complemented by gold on rosettes. However, both styles are connected with an exclusive format 45 x 45 cm, which is offered in a calibrated version at the Spirit series, thus qualifying this floor to meet the highest aesthetical requirements. During calibration, floor tile edges are ground in precise dimensions and floor tiles prepared in this manner will be ideally suited for laying with a minimum joint, accurately in the spirit of current trends. So, the Spirit series enables to create a compact and elegant whole from any interior.
