A new look for the Břeclav swimming pool with the Linka range
Sep 4, 2026 | A swimming lane as a line in space, and ceramics that preserve its trace. The modernised Břeclav swimming pool has been given a unique look thanks to large-format RAKO tiles from the iconic LINKA designer collection.
The Břeclav swimming pool has been serving local residents since 1965. After an incredible sixty years, the iconic complex has finally undergone a major and long-awaited transformation. The extensive refurbishment began in January 2025, and on 1 July 2026, the gates to the modernised outdoor area opened for the first time to enthusiastic visitors. But the revamp doesn’t end there – the indoor pool is set to join the outdoor complex as early as the first quarter of 2027.
Top-class facilities and water fun
The new swimming complex offers everything lovers of summer relaxation and sport could wish for – two stainless-steel pools with swimming lanes and fun water features, an extended water slide, safe slides for the youngest children and, above all, completely modernised visitor facilities. The temporary capacity was set at 1,000 people for the grand opening and is gradually being increased throughout the summer to meet the huge public demand.
When functionality meets original design
Large-format ceramic tiles supplied by Lasselsberger have become a significant aesthetic and functional feature of the entire facility. The choice fell on the original LINKA series, designed for the RAKO brand by the acclaimed designer Maxim Velčovský.
The LINKA collection is based on the simplest of artistic gestures – an ordinary line, from which, through multiplication, layering and overlapping, an extraordinarily complex and striking pattern emerges.
A story imprinted on ceramics
It is precisely in the swimming pool environment that this motif takes on a completely new, deeper dimension. After all, a swimming lane is also a line – it guides a person through space, records their movement and leaves a fleeting trail on the water’s surface. Whilst the water immediately erases this trail, RAKO’s ceramics, on the other hand, preserve it permanently.
Through a carefully considered combination of light and dark decors with striking, energetic yellow accents, an interior has been created that perfectly blends the high demands placed on the functionality of a public space with cutting-edge contemporary Czech design.
