RAKO has given the Břeclav swimming pool complex a new look
The Břeclav swimming pool complex has been serving local residents since 1965. After sixty years, the complex has undergone a major transformation: renovation work began in January 2025 and the modernised outdoor area opened on 1 July 2026. The indoor pool is set to follow in the first quarter of 2027.
The new swimming complex offers two pools with swimming lanes and water features, an extended water slide, slides for younger children and modern visitor facilities. Its temporary capacity was set at 1,000 people at the opening and is being gradually increased over the course of the summer.
Lasselsberger supplied large-format ceramic tiles for the complex’s facilities from the original LINKA series, designed for the RAKO brand by Maxim Velčovský. The collection is based on the simplest artistic gesture – a line – from which a complex pattern emerges through multiplication and overlapping.
It is precisely by the pool that this motif takes on further significance. A swimming lane is also a line: it guides a person through the space, records movement and leaves a fleeting trail on the water’s surface. Ceramics, on the other hand, preserve this trail. The combination of light and dark motifs with striking yellow elements has created an interior that blends the functionality of a public space with contemporary Czech design.
